The Murasaki, or Imperial Purple, Geishas are two bottles of exquisite sherry-aged Karuizawa bottled by Elixir Distillers exclusively for The Whisky Exchange. This 31-year-old single malt has intense umami richness alongside notes of brown sugar, citrus, complex baking spices, liquorice, sweet fruit and mushroom.

Imperial Purple, or murasaki in Japanese, is a nod to the innate majesty that is geisha. Both single malts in this series, the latest in our Geishas collection, were distilled in the early 1980s and transferred into demijohns when we felt they had reached the peak of perfection.
